Tourism & Hospitality Recovery Program (THRP)
The THRP provides the greatest subsidy at up to 75%. To meet the criteria, your company must meet the following:
Be eligible under https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/wage-rent-subsidies/tourism-hospitality-recovery-program/trhp-activities-qualify.html
- More than 50% of revenue must come from Tourism, Hospitality, Arts or Entertainment
- Drop of at least 40% in revenue
- Payroll account must be opened before March 15, 2020 (for Wage Subsidy Portion)
Hardest Hit Business Recovery Program (HHBRP)
If your company is not eligible for THRP, you would then seek to claim the HHBRP for which the subsidy is 50%. Your company would have to meet the following criteria
- Drop of at least 50% in revenue
- Payroll account opened before March 15, 2020 (for Wage Subsidy portion)
Canada Recovery Hiring Grant Program (CRHGP)
If your company is not eligible for either of the above, to meet the requirements of the CRHGP you must:
- Have 10% drop in revenue
- Payroll account opened before March 15, 2020 (for Wage Subsidy portion)
- March 14, 2021 to April 10, 2021 would be set as the baseline. This would then be compared against the current payroll period and you would subsequently be able to claim 50% of wages back, based on the delta between two periods
- No rent subsidy for this program.
